Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Legal Strategy Development:
Anticipate and identify legal issues.
Counsel officers and upper management in politically, publicly, or financially significant situations.
Develop effective legal strategies and solutions under time constraints.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
Manage relationships between the board and senior management.
Anticipate legal issues within the regulatory frameworks of various industries.
Ensure compliance in day-to-day operations.
3. Specialized Legal Areas:
Handle litigation matters.
Oversee tax filings.
Develop and implement document retention procedures.
Manage hiring and employment actions.
Draft and review governance documents.
Negotiate leases and other contracts.
4. Industry-specific Focus:
Navigate legal aspects of applied research, green energy production, biotech, data preservation, cybersecurity, defi and cryptocurrencies.
5. Additional Responsibilities:
Oversee lobbying and political filings.
Conduct policy reviews.
Establish and monitor internal controls.
Manage insurance-related matters.

Educational Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the bar and in good standing.

Experience Requirements
Proven experience as legal counsel, preferably in US non-profit settings.
Background in managing charity, donation, and fundraising events.
Familiarity with Singaporean legal practices is a plus.

Excellent English language proficiency.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment.
Proven experience in navigating complex legal landscapes.
